Social Media Officer Job Description

Barony of Madrone Social Media Officer (SMO)

Are you a person who knows your way around various kinds of Social Media? Would you like to help people find the SCA and the Barony of Madrone? You can become a baronial officer and help get the word out.

This job can call for just a few hours a week, but could be busy in the few days before a Baronial event.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain social media channels for the Barony and seek to expand the Barony’s social media reach.
  • Manage the Barony’s YouTube channel
  • Monitor channels/postings and manages member requests
  • Forward important SCA messaging
  • Assist event stewards and officers with creating posts for multiple accounts
  • Create Facebook events for Baronial events
  • Report monthly to the Seneschal for curia with an update on info relevant info on your SMO work

Additional support in the form of:

Encourage its members and participants to use creativity and innovation in the use of social media by its entities to increase connectivity and participation.

Ensure that all content posted to official SCA social media channels by any officer or participant supports the achievement of the Society’s Mission, and its role as an international non-profit volunteer educational organization.

Ensure that all people engaging with, and on behalf of SCA Inc. through social media have a clear and common understanding of expected standards of behavior, and how they will be managed.
