Quest: Prowess on the Path

Sergeant

Armored combat candidates must authorize and fight in a primary and secondary weapons form.

Using the primary weapons form in a tourney or war setting, candidate should be above average in proficiency as determined by sergeants and knights of the Barony.

Using the secondary weapons form in a tourney or war setting, candidate should be average in proficiency as determined by the sergeants and knights of the Barony.

Candidate must also be authorized as a senior armored combat marshal.


Gallant

Rapier and Cut and Thrust candidates must authorize and fight in a primary and secondary weapons form.

Using the primary weapons form in a tourney setting, candidate should be above average in proficiency as determined by gallants and MODs of the Barony.

Using the secondary weapons form in a tourney or war setting, candidate should be average in proficiency as determined by the gallants and MODs of the Barony.

Candidate must also be authorized as a senior marshal in either rapier or cut and thrust.


Yeoman

Candidates must equip and shoot in a primary and secondary weapons form in any missile or target discipline: target archery, combat archery, thrown weapons, siege weapons.

Using the primary weapons form, candidate should be above average in proficiency as determined by official recorded score or observed combat performance. (as evaluated by OGGS members).

Using the secondary weapons form, candidate should be average in proficiency as determined by official recorded score or combat performance (as evaluated by OGGS members).

Candidate must also be authorized as a senior marshal in either target archery, missile combat, thrown weapons, or siege.


Artisan 

A&S practitioners must complete two additional A&S projects to demonstrate prowess on their Artisan path. Serving as student judge all day at Kingdom A&S may serve as one of these projects. Projects may be presented at a Baronial event, an A&S Competition, or A&S body-of-work event. Project should include creation of an artifact, method and process documentation, and historical source and context reference. Stretch goal: formally presenting project or teaching on A&S subject matter. 

Teach a Class 

Create and teach a minimum 30-minute A&S class demonstrating your knowledge and skill in your primary area of proficiency. Class can be in person or online, taught to as large or small an audience as you’d like, from Collegium to a Baronial social.  

Take a Class 

The An Tir YouTube channel and the Terra Pomaria Library have a large number of existing classes in multiple disciplines. Collegium and Ithra classes are also excellent resources for classes to help you learn more about your chosen path. Ask your Coronets, officers, or fellow sergeants for recommendations. 

  • Take an SCA or academic research or documentation class, OR 
  • Write or teach demonstrating your knowledge in research and documentation.  

Steward

Candidates should complete two additional service projects to demonstrate prowess on their Steward path, one of which may be satisfied by actively holding a Baronial or Kingdom office. Project should include proposal, execution, and an after-project lessons learned conversation.

Teach a Class 

Create and teach a minimum 30-minute class demonstrating your knowledge and skill in your primary area of service proficiency. Class can be in person or online, taught to as large or small an audience as you’d like, from Collegium to a Baronial social.  

Baronial Curia

Regularly attend and actively participate in Baronial Curia and Financial Committee meetings. Bonus points for Kingdom Curia!
