Minutes of Madrone Curia March 24th, 2026

Words from their Excellencies: Members of the populace who would like to volunteer to be event stewards; either as deputies or as leads with strong deputy mentors, please reach out to the Baroness.

Progress: Daffodil Tourney, Seagirt / Baroness War, Vulcanfeldt / Inlands practice, Wealdsmere /  Colloquium, Madrone / Kingdom Arts & Sciences & Queen’s Rapier Tourney, Ocean Shores

Words from the Seneschal: Will follow up on the approval of our Customary. Paperwork for new officers is being handled.

Exchequer: Upcoming expenditures include Zoom subscription and annual rental for the Storage Unit.

New Kingdom Exchequer training went well. Updated policies will be received soon. Lady Melrakki will step up as of April 1st, Etiennette will remain as deputy.

A&S: Kingdom Arts & Sciences Championships is still seeking judges. Madrone Colloquium still seeking teachers.

Chatelaine: The SCA will have space this year at the Renton Dragon’s Landing Demo in April 12th. It will be run by the Kingdom Chatelaine who ran it as our Baronial Chatelaine in 2026.  

Armored Combat: No incidences, fighter coordination / war training continues.

Rapier & Cut n Thrust: Getting enough newcomers that we are running out of loaner gear to fit them all up at practice. Looking forward to getting Baronial loaner gear. Both Nick & Enzio have volunteered gorgets for loaner gear. Of note – loaner gear does not go home with newcomers but are returned to Marshals at end of practice.

Chamberlain: We have stuff! And will bring SCA sandwich boards to Colloquium

Herald: We will have a heraldry consultation table at Colloquium and running a class on the pronunciation of names.

Scribe: Charter revisions are being done. Request for official Scribal email to act as digital depository

Social Media: Admitted 9 new members to Discord, 2 to Facebook group

Webster: Website is up and running. Keeping up with getting new information up in a timely manner.

Chronicler: Deputy will be elevated to Chronicler soon.

Words from the PDL Seneschal: PDL is doing their thing and will do Peasant’s Revel this year.

Sergeants: Madrone & Wyewood joint quest book work days are being worked on.

Culinary Guild: Will be displaying at Guild fair, and Athenaeum. Next meeting on April 1st via Zoom.

Dance: Largest turnout at Kapka this year – 6 couples – including two new comers.

Equestrians: Upcoming practices April 4 & May 30

Socials: April 6th – Guild Fair for newcomers to learn about the various interest groups in the Barony.

Events:

Colloquium/Spring Event (April 11th, 2026): Site walk done, photos on the Barony Facebook page. Only one class slot left. Contact Rotrude if you’d like to teach. Pre-Registration open. Event Steward: Jade

Lionhearts Championship & Picnic (May 31st, 2026): This is a Sunday at Tolt McDonald Park’s Barn Shelter in Carnation. Waiting on response from King County Risk Management. 3rd presentation by Baroness Rauokinn – Approved. Any interested in helping, please reach out to her Excellency

Athenaeum (June 27th, 2026): Renton Technical College, Renton. Applications were opened March 1.EventSteward: Ameline.

Peasants Revel by PdL (August 8th, 2026): Spirit Ridge Park, Bellevue. There will be “Battle Croquet” and a champion chosen.

Autumn War/Emprise of the Black Lion (September 10 – 13, 2026): T90 Ranch, Tennino. BnB are on the organization chat, as are Galen – Rapier Marshal & Valerien – Equestrian Marshal. We need a Baronial representative – a coordinator to speak for the Barony. Please reach out to the BnB if you are interested in helping.

October Event (October 24th, 2026): The Culinary Guild are looking at running an event with the Culinary Guild either providing a full meal or the main for a pot luck (and maybe a dessert auction). Site: Fauntleroy Church where Yule was held. Event Steward: Jade
