Minutes of Madrone Curia February 24th, 2026
Words from their Excellencies: Many thanks to Valerien and crew for an excellent Rogue’s Tavern Event.
Progress: Ursulwyk Medieval Faire – Baron Payne, Baroness War – Baroness Raoukinn, Madrone Spring Colloquium, KASQRC & May Crown – Both BnB
Words from the Seneschal: Paperwork for new officers is being handled and sent up to Kingdom.
Exchequer: Annual expense for Zoom subscription due in March. Fighters donation of $240 for rental of Kapka deposited. New Kingdom Exchequer training has been scheduled for March 14.
A&S: Shoutout for new A&S Champion Galfryd Yrinmonger & Bardic Champion Yaninus de Venoix.
- Several Madronans will present at Kingdom A&S Championships.
- Reach out to Rotrude if you are interested in teaching a class at Spring Colloquium.
Chatelaine: The chatelaine of the Barony of Blatha an Oir has reached out to see if Madrone would be interested in participating in the Seattle Pride Parade. Kingdom chatelaine has reached out to other baronies to march and share in the cost of $850 as a sponsor/participant. Please participate in the poll that will be sent out.
Armored Combat: Some new fighters showing up. War training will be ramping up to better train fighters to fight cohesively at Wars.
Rapier & Cut n Thrust: It was too wet and muddy to fight at Rogues Tavern. Discussion of budget for loaner gear was moved to end of meeting and approved. Fund raising will take place to help fund the recommended but more expensive items. Loaner gear is brought to practices by Baronial Marshal and goes home with them.
Chamberlain: Inventory of the storage unit completed.
- Proposal to etch Madrone heraldry on the pommel of the Sergeantry’s Captain’s Sword of office– Cost approved by Curia.
Herald: Herald’s Point was held at Rogue’s Tavern. The office is behind on court reports. Heraldsbane & Aurelius will be working on catching up.
Scribe: Scribal Night is Wednesday, 26th (tonight) at Crossroads Food Court in Bellevue.
Social Media: 13 new members in discord. Getting videos started up.
Webster: Website is up and still working on rear-end things and updating events/calendar/categories for 2026.
Chronicler: February Leaf is up on the site.
Words from Porte d’Leau: Tristin Taylor Sablerose has stepped up for deputy Seneschal. PdL & the Culinary Guild will officially sponsor Peasants Revel on August 8 at Spirit Ridge Park
Sergeantry: Will be looking into sharing/joint Sergeantry classes with our neighboring Baronies – Wyewood and Aquaterra for the Quest Book.

Dance: Dancing was done at Rogues with our Barony live band and practices continue in Madrone, PdL and Wyewood during the week.

Equestrian: Next practice on March 21st – come play with ponies. Previous practice had 13 attendees with 4 riders.

April 6th – “Guild” fair for newcomers to learn about the various interest groups in the Barony
Events:
Rogue’s Tavern (February 21st 2026): Went well, well enjoyed, 75 through gate, under budget on food.
Colloquium/Spring Event (April 11th, 2026): Contract signed, all paperwork complete. Those wishing to teach a class, please reach out to A&S Minister Rotrude. Volunteers welcome, we still need a gate head. Event Steward: Jade
Lionhearts Championship & Picnic (May 31st, 2026): This is a Sunday at Tolt McDonald Park’s Barn Shelter in Carnation if it all works out. 1st presentation by Baroness Rauokinn – any who wish to help please reach out to her.
Athenaeum (June 27th, 2026): Applications to exhibit will open up in March.EventSteward: Ameline.
Peasants Revel by PdL (August 8th, 2026): Spirit Ridge Park. There will be “Battle Croquet” and maybe Cheese rolling.
Autumn War/Emprise of the Black Lion (September 10 – 13, 2026): BnB are on the organization chat. Will add Valerian as Equestrian marshal and Galen as Rapier marshal.
