The duties of the office are to:
1. Create and publish quarterly (in PDF), the official newsletter of Madrone – The Leaf – on the Barony website, which is on the platform WordPress.
2. Take minutes of business meetings (Curia) once a month. Publish the Summary Highlights on Social Media – Facebook and other social media as instructed. Publish full minutes on Barony website once approved by the Seneschal.
3. File a quarterly report to Kingdom chronicler (shortest, easiest report ever!)
4. Send PDF copies of Curia Minutes and the Quarterly Newsletter to the SCA Archivists – this is a new requirement.
Rowena Jade includes this note:
The Baronial Newsletter is where a creative person can really shine and create a newsletter that would chronicle the Barony’s history, highlight our populace’s successes and introduce various subjects for the edification and amusement of the populace. This newsletter can also be sent through the email list instead of languishing in a corner of the website, all lonely and ignored as it is right now.
I created the Demo handout I called the Leaflet – and this should be under the new Chronicler’s purview as well, to update as needed.
I will absolutely train the new Chronicler in using WordPress to update the Chronicler’s portion of the Barony Website, and our fabulous Webster is always available should you need help too.
I don’t have skills with the email application Outlook in Office 365, which is used for the official email account of the office. Outlook gives me the heebie-jeebies and I’m skeered to make important things disappear, so I never got to cleaning up/categorizing/filing the Chronicler’s official email account.
Organizing the Outlook Email box… is all yours.
I am leaving the office because about a year into it, my body decided to betray me and my health took a nose-dive. I find it difficult to focus on taking Curia minutes in the evenings after a full day at my day job, and I also feel that another person might be able to take this office to its fullest potential.
