Curia Notes March 28, 2023

Agenda for March 28, 2023 Curia

Words from Their Excellencies – Barunin Gera Gangolffin and Barun Christopher MacEveny

• Attended PdL’s Sven’s Follies.  Gave out the Porte Chalice to Margaret Palmer.

• Will be attending Baronesses War next. Then Lionhearts, May Crown, Celtic Revolt in Wealdsmere.  Would love to have Madronans attend with them, remind them to hydrate etc.

• Largesse: they finally have a nice stash for gifting, thanks to Rowenna, Giselle, Margaret etc.  More is always gratefully received!

• We had a great guilds & activities social.  The only activity not represented was youth & family activites, but the Kingdom Youth and Family Coordinator now lives in Madrone so hopefully he can assist in future.

• Want to follow up with A&S activities to capture people who were interested. The Barunin will be hosting two upcoming socials at their home:

-Sunday April 23, 1 to 5 PM, predominantly sewing projects.
-Friday June 9, 5 to 10 PM, sewing project night leading into a bardic circle around the fire as the evening progresses.

Address will be posted closer to the dates.

• Fighters want a newcomers evening with a martial focus.  Re armoring, kit, marshalling, fighting clothing, lists etc.  [Reach out to Kerij-e with ideas for activities or a location.]

• The Barunin would love to see a quarterly A*S class & maker day somewhere with room to spread out.
Sven’s was held at Saint Margaret’s – nice site, good price  $150 + kitchen.  There are also small classrooms for an additional fee.  Good for a giant garb workshop or the like with lots of room to move.

• working on a tri-Baronial treaty with Aquaterra and Wyewood, to work on not having enough volunteers, calendar space etc. to try to collaborate on events, super-practices, sergeantries, possible newcomers “academy” monthly, also maybe a Yule Feast for 2024.   The “salish sea accords”. Aline is writing something up.  We might need to reword parts of the customary to make it work.  Aiming for a draft to be available for review in late May/June.
