  •  Attended Seneschals Training on Financial Stuff.
  • Covid wording no longer required.  But as always, you are welcome to wear a mask and to set personal requirements for activities held in private residences.
  • Kapka school security – a reminder about codes and doors/windows, especially upstairs.

  • Heraldic Symposium – October 7, 2023 will be held at St. Andrews church. Event Steward (Simon) seeks volunteers.
  • Chatelaine (Tabby) suggested new comers track.

Baronial Officers 

Exchequer  – Etienenette   

We are solvent, but we had large expenditures and raising funds will be major topic in Financial Committee meeting next month.

A&S – Aeron Corrino 

  • Highest attendance in Athenaeum since it started with 250+ at gate & 54 exhibitors. 42 Laurels signed up but many more showed up and participated.

Chatelaine – Tabytha Morgan / Gold Key – Isentrude von Osten         

  • Handful of brand new newcomers, handful of newcomer returnees came for Athenaeum and were helped with garb.
  • Chatelaine business cards re-stocked

Chamberlain – Enzio Bandinelli  

  • SCA signs returned
  • List of Storage contents updated and available
  • Discussion again on whether list of storage items should be on website – Reminder from Seneschale that it is merely a list of storage items – i.e. eric setups, ropes, SCA signage, not B&B regalia etc. that will be accessible.

Herald – Simon Fisc 

  • Court was held at Athenaeum, awards were handed out
  • Awards handed out were reported on M&PDL Facebook page

Armored Combat – Nicklaß Volkhart 

  • Four (4) loaner kits are in circulation but borrowers are also gearing up and pieces are being returned
  • One (1) brand new fighter at practice
  • Monthly war practice is well attended
  • Donation of gorgets (smaller sizes much needed) offered by Damon
  • Armor swap proposed in August at Kapka
  • Donation box will be brought to outdoor practices as well
  • Thought he had extended for a year, need to confirm thru past mi

Rapier Marshal – Temetgen de Worde  – Report Rec’d

  • Eastside Rapier “pop-up” practices at Crossroads Park are going well and well attended
  • Extending a year (6/24)
  • New deputy/successor – Galen
  • Requested from Janitor AC turned on in gym. Kerij-e will follow up with school admin.
  • Armor swap proposed in August at Kapka

Scribe – Final report from Katryne McKim

  • Turn out at Scribal monthlies are becoming lighter – but might just be summer.
  • Katryne has been named the new Kingdom Rapier Marshall and has stepped down. Position is now vacant. There may be a few people interested.
  • Next need for Baronial scrolls is February 2024 (Tavern)

Social Mediator – Basilius Fuchs 

  • 10 people added to the M&PDL Facebook page
  • Explained and encouraged use of hashtags on M&PDL Facebook page (#Athenaeum2023)
  • Photos taken at Athenaeum made the official SCA Facebook page

Webster – Rowenna de Manning 

  • Website is updated. No downtime.
  • Not planning on extending. Warrant expires 12/2

Chronicler – Rowena Jade 

  • Slight Miscomm, but May Leaf is now published on the website, and August Leaf is in draft
  • Warrant will be taken care of between Seneschale & Chronicler

Guild/Activities/Sergeantry 

Sergeantry – Basilius Fuchs and Emma la rousse d’Argentan

  • New sargents and candidates – lots of representation at Athenaeum
  • Handled hospitality at Athenaeum
  • New group photo on Baronial Website (https://baronyofmadrone.net/sergeants-of-madrone/)

Culinary Guild – Ysolt Tayler of Windhill

  • Pre-Sold 115 lunches for Athenaeum.
  • Sold 103.
  • Two newcomers came to help at advance cooking event. In all, about 10 to help prepare.

Dance – Trahaern ap Ieuan

  • 1stMondays in  PDL
  • 3rdMondays at Kapka School

Equestrian – Anissa Gabrielli

  • Guild Meeting – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29th– Mackey’s Chinese Restaurant @ Issaquah
  • Practices – July 1 and July 22, 2023 – Ravenscroft.  Meet and Greet.

Baronial Socials 

  • June project night was cancelled due to illness. Rescheduled for 1st Monday in July, attendance will probably be light, please contact Barunin Gera if you will be attending.
  • Ice cream social – 1st Monday in August – in Park across from Kapka school

Event du Jour 

  • Athenaeum – June 24  – Preliminary Closing Report  (Event Steward is off to war!)
    • Went very well, much thanks to all that helped.
  • Peasant’s Revel – July 8 – Berdis
    • There will be a cold collation for lunch
    • There will be hobby horse races – bring your horses!
    • Issues with the Kingdom Page continue and information not up despite many re-submissions.  See the Baronial Website for the lastest information.
    • Baroness Spike will handle cheese pledges when she is back from war

New Business 

  • Newcomers Colloquiums to be held at St. Andrews Church, the entrance which is ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. Proposed and accepted
    • 8/12 – Martial Class Day – Eden & Samuelle – First discussion. Due to no cost (donations to cover site cost) and short  Activity approved without second discussion.  May not appear on Kingdom calendar or in Crier.
    • 10/28  Arts and Sciences Day – Eden & Isabella– First discussion. Second discussion in July with updates
  • No garb required, no site fee, bring your own lunch
  • Armor/gear/stuff swap
  • Classes will be offered. Instructors needed.
  • Since October date is already reserved by Madrone on Kingdom calendar, suggestion for Revelry event in the evening with dancing and light repast from culinary guild. Eden & Margaret will investigate added costs
  • Donations accepted to cover costs. Some pledges already received
  • No weapons or alcohol allowed on site. This is a strict rule.
  • Facebook events will be created. Please share them with neighboring groups.
