Words from the Seneschal – Ynesen Ongge Xong Kerij-e

  • The new Kingdom Seneschal Viscountess Alessandra Luciana Giancomo has been announced and will replace the current Seneschal Mistress Attia Prima at 12th
  • Quarterly Report is in progress.
  • Date Reservations Forms (DRF) have been completed for the Colloquiums and for 2024 events for Kingdom Calendar

  • Quarterly Report has been turned in
  • Planning for the Heraldic Symposium – October 7th 2023 goes apace.
    • A newcomers track was requested

  • Checks have gone out for Atheneum expenses and Fighter Practice.
  • Financial Meeting still to be scheduled
  • Quarterly Report is in progress.

Arts & Sciences – Aeron Corrino

  • Absent – No report

Chatelaine – Tabytha Morgan / Gold Key – Isentrude von Osten

  • Several email & Facebook inquiries, “Welcome to Madrone” written up and available for download from Baronial Website: https://baronyofmadrone.net/welcome-newcomers/

Chamberlain – Enzio Bandinelli

  • All gear that went out for events have been returned

Herald – Simon Fisc

  • Received some interest / enquiries about registering persona names & arms.
  • Table shall be set up at Colloquiums for heraldry consultation.
  • Request for newcomer focus class for October Heraldic Symposium.

Armored Combat – Nicklaß Volkhart

  • Absent – No report

Rapier Marshal – Temetgen de Worde

  • Practice goes well. No accidents/incidents/injuries
  • New fighters showing up at Eastside practice in Crossroads Park

Scribe – Currently Open. Barun Kit has stepped in temporarily.

  • Monthly Scribal nights (Wednesdays) continue, alternating between Bellevue & Lake Forest Park and will be announced on the Barony’s Facebook group.
  • Interest expressed/received for Deputy Scribe position

Social Mediator – Basilius Fuchs

  • 19 added to Baronial Facebook group

Webster – Rowenna de Manning

  • Website is updated and up to date with all activities and events.

Chronicler – Rowena Jade of the Lion Isles

  • August Leaf published on website
  • An introductory leaflet to the SCA & Madrone with list of activities and an “Upcoming Events” flyer is now available for download at https://baronyofmadrone.net/the-leaf/

GUILDS/ACTIVITIES/SERGEANTRY

Sergeantry – Basilius Fuchs & Emma la rouse d’Argentan

  • There are plans for a dinner/potluck social for all sergeants

Culinary Guild – Ysolt Tayler of Windhill

  • Meeting next week
  • Box lunches were sold at $10 at Atheneaum
  • Dinner was sold at $5 per pop at Peasants Revel
  • Looking to contribute light repast for Colloquium
  • Original charter by the Kingdom of the West has been transferred to An Tir and is now in Madrone’s possession.

Dance – Trahaern ap Leuan

  • Continues 1st Mondays in PDL, 3rd Monday at Kapka School

SOCIALS AND EVENTS

 Socials

  • Ice cream social planned at Kapka/Park behind school on August 7th
  • Social planned for September 11 (upstairs at Kapka School)

Events

Athenaeum Closing Report – Baroness Spike Zoetart

  • 255 total attendees, 3 comp, 4 youth. 55 exhibitors, 67 Laurels pre-scheduled.
  • A good profit was made
  • Post Mortem:
    • Besides using Facebook, information should be disseminated via Email as Facebook limits post/event reach.
    • Pre-scheduled Laurel “chats” should be limited to 3.

Peasants Revel Closing Report – Baroness Bergdis Thorgrimsdottir

  • About 75 attendees
  • 3 bumps & bruises – not significant
  • Post Mortem:
    • Should seek another suitable space: Free, more available parking, hill to roll cheese.

NEW EVENTS

August 12th Martial Colloquium / October 28th Arts & Sciences Colloquium

  • Those that have pledged and wish to pledge money to support this free event, please contact Eden Rain directly.
  • There is plenty of table space. Please sign up to teach classes / demo
  • For the October Colloquium, there will be a revel in the evening that will require garb, and the culinary guild will sponsor a light repast for dinner and the cost of renting the kitchen.
