Words from Their Excellencies – Barunin Gera Gangolffin and Barun Christopher MacEveny
Just attended 12th night to see our own Alianora & Athos be crowned. Will be attending Ursulmas this weekend, followed by Kingdom Arts &Sciences & Queens Rapier Championship at the end of February. (His Excellency hopes to compete in the Rapier Championship.) Their full intended schedule for the year is posted on the Baronial Website.
They have been talking with champions & people in the A&S and bardic communities about when & how the next championships will occur. They would like to continue to have bardic at Rogue Tavern, and A&S in the fall somehow, possibly part of Banquet & Emprise as they alternate. But the big issue is that it is hard to find people who want to compete. So they are considering changing things up, and very much want people’s input on this. Her Excellency suggests changing to a non-competitive format along the lines of soliciting “letters of intent” (don’t need to be letters per se) stating “this is the Art I practice & this is how I would champion the arts” then invite those people to show their art at an event, but that part is not competition. They want to make their decision based on the letters of intent. Discussion of concept ensues.
Kerij-e suggests doing something similar for Equestrian Champion.

Their Excellencies will host a Baronial hospitality space at Ursulmas. They encourage folks to bring extra chairs, benches, snacks for hospitality, etc. B*B not sitting court – it will be too crowded, so rather than formal retinue, they’d like to just have people to hang out with the B&B and remind them to hydrate etc.
The Baroness will also be there Sunday, running the “over 40 lists” and could likewise use folks to check in on her.
Words from Seneschal – Ynesen Ongge Xong Kerij-e
The B&B and Seneschal have been discussing the DEI issues at BoD level and what we can do at our local level. They want to add closed captioning to our Curia zooms, start reporting site accessibility info on events, etc. Also as discussed last year, set heat & cold thresholds for cancelling events etc.
Baroness wondered about Land Acknowledgements? Possibly donate percentage of profits to “Real Rent” or other appropriate 501C3. Input welcomed. Need to reach out to appropriate Tribal groups to see what they would consider appropriate.
Wrapping up year end reporting. Waiting on membership #s.

Not much – some reauthorizations ahead of Ursulmas, practice going smoothly, well attended.

1 injury at practice last week. Reports sent in, all compliant. No ER services called.

No Dec mtg or January – will have 2 mtgs in Feb. Just posted to FB.
Scribal goes well, charters created & being worked on.
Social Mediator – Basilius Fuchs
11 people added to the Facebook page. Looking at adding a TikTok channel for the Barony.
Webster – Rowenna de Manning
No injuries to report. Just paid this year’s webhosting fee.
Keeping up w/ announcements etc working w/adding some stuff for Rapier group.

Very Busy – held trivia nights for geography & heraldry
5 people have expressed interest in joining the Sergeantry this year.

Moving meetings around a little, check Facebook events for info. One more video night in the current series & then a break.
Looking at a busy year of projects: Peasants, lunch for Athenaeum, food for Heraldic Symposium & hopefully a Harvest Dinner in the fall
Dance – Ranulf Mirthe/Trahaern ap Ieuan
Dance practice continues in Porte de L’Eau and they taught Dance at Twelfth Night & had 40-60 dancers participating.
Equestrian – Anissa Gabrielli (Kerij-e reporting)
Putting schedule together & ordering insurance. Probably 4th Thursday of month

Had an early Jan social with crafts, & then Sergeantry
2 open dates in February. Tabby will probably have another social sit & sew for one of them.
Rogue Tavern – March 4th – Raphael
Insurance submitted, working on banquet permit, crier copy in. No link yet for the kingdom website, working on the menu – basically the same as last year. FB event needs to be created. Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes. Hoping to add Thrown Weapons.
Lionhearts Martial Championships – May 6th Barun Kit
At Crossroads park – same plan as the one he first created prior to COVID. Has a heavy MIC, working on Rapier MIC.
Should we rent the shelters rather than just hope? $350 for day. Lots of support for idea. People volunteer to donate so we don’t have to deal with NMS. Will still need waivers/gate.
Would like an Arts and Sciences exhibit. Margaret said she would coordinate. First discussion approved.
Athenaeum – June 24 – Spike
Staff mtg last Thursday. Looking at future deadlines: Will start advertising after Ursulmas. Will reach out to court coordinator. Artist reg opens March 23rd, limit of 75, with waitlist as usual. Pre-reg May 23rd, menu May 9, event June 24

Other Business
Kerij-e has been doing a spreadsheet retrospective of the last few years’ events. Basics of financial & various other details. If you would like to see that info to prep an event bid just ask her. Because it includes financials it won’t be published on the Website.
Also trying to put together a site list for potential future events. That can be published.
Donations: Margaret has pursing permission for a donation button for the website & it’s finally being approved so we can make it happen. Hopefully this will help with the funding of fighter practice site.
