Words from their Excellencies: We had a medical emergency at fighters practice Feb 18th – Much Kudos for all who were trained in first aid and helped. Also kudos to those who stayed out of the way. They have been released from the hospital and is recovering.
Thank you to those that have helped with retinue and largesse. It is much appreciated.
We are seeking a Regalia Coordinator (part of the Exchequer’s office) who will coordinate with the Chamberlain. This gentle will not only keep track of Baronial Regalia, but also note condition and propose budget for maintenance and upkeep, etc.

Words from the Seneschal: The updated (approved at last Curia) Baronial Customary has been sent to Kingdom.
Words from PdL Seneschal: PdL March Curia will be on the 20th – a Thursday
Madrone April Curia swap with PdL. So Madrone April Curia will be on April 15th and PdL on the 22nd – to be confirmed/approved once all March meetings have concluded as we actually have 5 Tuesdays in April.
Exchequer: Gate cash and see from Rogues has been deposited. Matching donation check has been received. Checks to go out to PdL / Wyewood & the Equestrian Guild as per their contribution.
Epay & Credit card donations are on their way per Kingdom.
Financial Committee still needs to meet. Shout out to Margaret Palmer for stepping in at the 11th hour to run gate at Rogues Tavern. Kudos from Kingdom Epay Deputy for Credit Card reporting reconciling to the penny.
Armored Combat: One new fighter that’s come back for their 4th practice, and more kudos for those who moved vehicles and manned both entrances to the building, keeping an eye out for the first responders on Feb 18th. Incident report has been sent up.
Seeking resources to assist with a new inquiry from someone who is looking to starting fighting and has ambulatory challenges.
Rapier & Cut n Thrust: More and more new people coming to practice. Working on budget for loaner gear, waiting for new armor rules from Kingdom before finalizing.
Sergeants: Two new sergeants made at Rogues Tavern. Steward Muirghein of Bristol and Sergeant Nicklaß Volkhart

Arts & Sciences: Local folks are gearing up for March events, including Kingdom A&S and our Demo at ECCC. Shoutout to new A&S Champion arranging Craft and Sewing nights!
Kingdom A&S is still looking for Judges. Please consult the event website and/or contact Thora the Kingdom Minister of Arts & Sciences. If you are interested in learning to judge, please apply to be a student judge
Quarterly report turned in to Kingdom on January 29.
Chatelaine: Emerald City Comic Con demo will be in a different spot and promises better visibility.
Scribal: Will be at Crossroads food court this evening (Wednesday, Feb 26th).
Herald: Received access to official email in the morning. Report from Rogues Tavern has been submitted for update to Precedence.
Herald also provided information about a free comprehensive 3-day Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, taking place April 4-6 at Everett Community College by South County Fire.
Social Media: 6 new members admitted to FaceBook group, 7 to Discord server. There is good use of the Discord server, with members coordinating meetups on it.
Webster: Site is updated – was happy to be able to use the site for the most up to date information for weather conditions for Rogue’s Tavern.
Updated the Champions page to list new A&S and Bardic Arts champions designated at Rogue’s Tavern
Updated the Sergeants page with names of new sergeant rank persons, and shifted Emma de la Rousse to the Past Sergeants page
Antir.org will be moved, off of AWS, to Dreamhosts. The status of the migration is not known. The Barony of Madrone website is unaffected since it is not hosted on the Kingdom server. The Madrone Culinary Guild website is hosted on the Kingdom server, and will be migrated at some point in the future. The Online Athenaeum website is on the Kingdom server and due to be migrated.
Chronicler: Warrant is up in May and would like to step down. Job posting will be put up on Facebook and Discord.
Culinary: Meeting Mar 19th, reconstruction (cooking) planned Mar 22nd – contact the guild for more information if you wish to attend either. Work is continuing for the Nov 1st Baronial Banquet. A site has been found, but an Event Steward is still wanting. Volunteer by contacting the Culinary guild.
Dance: Dance continues the 3rd Monday of the month at Kapka – Note that the doors are usually locked until 7pm when activities begin. Two other dance practices each month are on the East side. This Thursday, February 27, in Wyewood / Kent, Thursday, March 6, in Porte de l’Eau / Kirkland
Equestrians: Due to rain and mud, riding did not happen at the February meeting. Instead, equestrians made plans for the year and did tack maintenance. March meeting (15th) will depend on the weather. Check before you head out.
Social: Monday March 3rd at Kapka – Kerie-j will do a test run on a Persona development journal to be shown at ECCC. Please come help.
Events:
- Rogues Tavern (February 8, 2025) Thanks to everyone who helped. Initial reconciliation – made budget and profit as budgeted. Event steward has expressed interest in running it again next year, but moving it to a later date in February. <Profit budged $305 – actual $347>
- May Crown (May 16 – 18, 2025) plenty of volunteer positions are still available should you wish to help.
- Lionhearts (May 31, 2025) will be held jointly with Wyewood’s Day of Archery. Wyewood will take the lead on gate/cash and site needs (biffies) – Madrone will take the lead on Event info.
- Athenaeum (June 28, 2025) – no new news. Same site – Lake Washington High School
- Virtual Athenaeum – still seeking Project Coordinator
- Baronial Banquet (November 1, 2025) – by the Culinary Guild – seeking Event Steward
- Peasants Revel (August 9, 2025) – by the Culinary Guild – seeks recommendation of suitable neighborhood parks. Requirements – Public facilities, parking, ADA friendly, hill for cheese rolling
- Madrone Yule (December 13, 2025) – seeking Event Steward
New Business:
Blatha an Or proposed another joint Emprise of the Black Lion at Autumn War. September 11 – 14 at the same site, T90 Ranch. Budget has been shared. With experience of income and expenses under their belt, the budget is now more realistic and projected profit is better for all stakeholder Baronies.
