Minutes of the Madrone Curia April 15th 2025
Curia was moved forward a week to accommodate BnB’s schedule. They will be back 1st week of May.
Words from their Excellencies:
Progress: May Crown, Lionhearts, June Faire, Athenaeum, An Tir West War
Regalia: Making of new regalia is moving along but any additional help will be welcome. We are still seeking a Regalia Coordinator for the Barony
Red Branch: Meeting of the Order on May 10.
Words from the Seneschal:
- 2026 Event Planning – proposed schedule will be posted on Facebook and Discord, please comment online or come to the next Curia.
- No feedback yet from Kingdom in reference to our updated Customary – will reach out.
Words from PdL Seneschal: Busy with May Crown preparation, otherwise Canton is running along well.
Exchequer:
- Planned outgoing – payments for Athenaeum site, Zoom subscription, Web hosting.
- Financial Meeting planned for mid-May when BnB are back.
- Warrant expires November 2025. Seeking a deputy to train into the position.
Arts & Sciences: Work has begun on new Regalia for the Barony. Athenaeum preparation continues.
Armored Combat: 4 heavy fighters showed up for the Renton demo.
- Hoping to have 3 new fighters authorized by May Crown
- Proposed the barony obtain more soft weapons for demo play for adults as well as kids.
Rapier & Cut-n-Thrust: Thursday practice will move to Crossroads Park May 1st.
- Working on list of loaner equipment and budget for it
- Request for more business cards to hand out.
Chatelaine: 29 volunteers showed up to the Renton Dragons Landing demo. It was a great time. All business cards handed out. A new comer came to the recent fighter practice at Kapka.
Herald: Caught up. Inbox is empty. FYI – having surgery mid-May – will request another Herald for Lionhearts if unable to attend.
Scribal: Scribal nights are going well. Getting scrolls ready for Athenaeum and Lionhearts.
Social Media: Publicizing Athenaeum on social media.
Webster: Much maintenance work on the website.
- Updated calendar, email forwards, plug-ins etc.
- Changed format to make it more smart-phone friendly.
- Added photo from Renton Dragons Landing demo.
- Changed BnB photo to a “summer” photo.
- Requested reimbursement for plug-in license & IP security.
Chronicler: Warrant expires May 2025. Seeking a successor for the position.
Sergeantry: April has been quiet. Candidate Valerien is working on their equestrian senior marshallate and will be running the equestrian activities at May Crown under the auspices of Raphael the Rogue who will be the MiC.
Culinary Guild: Cooking Saturday April 19th – contact guild for address if you are interested in attending.
Dance: Attendance has been consistent with about 4 showing up each practice.
Equestrian Guild: Practice Saturday April 26th – contact guild for address if you are interested in attending.
Socials: Thank you Chatelaine Medea for stepping up to welcome newcomers at the Baronial socials at Kapka. Bardic Champion Gaston may also lead a bardic social
Events:
- May Crown (May 16 – 18, 2025) There will be equestrian activities! An MiC has been found. Vigils will be Friday night on the Erics, After-Parties on Saturday night on the Erics.
- Lionhearts (May 31, 2025) held jointly with Wyewood’s Day of Archery. Biffies and Insurance has been ordered by Wyewood. Working on staffing list with co-steward to see what staff may still be needed.
- Athenaeum (Jun 28, 2025) – Boxed lunch will be through a caterer who needs 100 covers. Will be cancelled if 90 lunch pre-registrations are not received.
- Peasants Revel (Aug 9, 2025) – Spiritridge Park in Bellevue. Culinary guild will sponsor lunch. The Culinary Guild has evaluated a number of other potential sites and will still take new site suggestions for the future.
- Emprise / Autumn War (Sep 11 – 14, 2025) – require Equestrian Guild liaison.
- Baronial Banquet (Nov 1, 2025) – Initial bid by culinary guild with a Hungarian/Transylvanian menu at the Scottish Rites Hall in Shoreline
