· Madrone Baronial Feast (Baroness Aleksandra Lavrovna)
o EIF is in. I will be adding info to the Kingdom website and setting up a Facebook event shortly. I have 2 confirmed classes so far, Baroness Bergdis with an edible garnish class, and Master Owen the Merry will be doing something on Comedia del Arte since that fits nicely with the theme of the event.
o Sarra will be taking reservations when those open after July Coronation. I still need a gate head (very easy job at this event!) and a decorations person/team.
o If anyone has any questions or would like to help, please contact me!

· Rapier Championship (Renzo)
o Has breakdown for money portion but needs to work through details on insurance, etc.
§ Lady Gera indicates that (a) no site fee because the barony already takes care of the site for fighter practice
§ Will be getting insurance for the site for practice anyway, so won’t need to do it again for this particular night.
o Contacting people for site tokens.
o Has spoken to people for gate.
o Will work with herald to coordinate for court.

· May Crown 2016 (Stephen des Jardin)
o Announces that he will be a silly crazy person, and will propose doing a May Crown.
o Will do the same site in Vulkanfeldt. Spoke with Vulkanfeldt Seneschal; presenting at Vulkanfeldt meeting tonight as well.
o Presenting it for the first time tonight.
o Currently no bid at this point in time. If it is accepted in July, he would submit at July Coronation.
o Midhaven might be thinking about repeating; will check with them as well.
o Baron Stefan extends his thanks to Stephen for coming forward with this.
Old Business
· Amtgard joint practice
o July 25 is a good date. It does conflict with Pennsic.
o Amtgard is very excited
o They will go to Marymoore Park and get space.
o If one of the pavilions is not reserved, we can take that over from the day
o They are VERY interested in music and scribal
o This will be a joint practice, so fighting as well
o Will speak with Alicia about putting this on the baronial calendar (but this will not be an event on the Kingdom Calendar.

* Genevieve Marie Etiennette de Montagne. Badge. (Fieldless) On a sunflower proper a hummingbird hovering Or.
There is a step from period practice for the use of a hummingbird.
* Rowan of Atherdee. Name and device. Argent, a wooden rowboat with a single oar proper, a base wavy azure and a chief embattled purpure. Please advise the submitter to draw the waviness of the base with more amplitude, and to draw the boat and oar so that it does not overlap the base.
* Sean O’Conner. Device. Argent, a rook sable and on a chief gules three chess rooks argent.

* Mariia Aleksandra Lavrovna. Badge. (Fieldless) A domestic cat couchant argent in a wooden box proper.
The reason for return is given as: “This badge is returned for not being reliably blazonable, which is a violation of SENA A1C which requires an emblazon to be describable in heraldic terms. Blazoned as “in a wooden box”, the cat isn’t in the box as it is not contained. Is it not either overall, as it does not extend over either side; neither is it atop, since there is still overlap between the cat and the box. Although, unlike Schrodinger’s, this cat is unambiguously alive, the fact that his position relative to the box is not blazonable forces us to return this submission.
We will note that, based on the provided documentation, the use of trian aspect for the box is appropriate to improve recognizability.”

Projects:
Reframing Madrone Charter – Step One : Fix seal on old charter. Update: The king has been added into the loop and it seems a new seal will be organized between our Baron and the King. Project on hold until a seal gets to me.
Scribal Night:
Date & Time: The scribal night is happening the first & third Mondays. The Next meeting is June 15st. Location is the KapKa school where fight practice is happening.
Charters: I received zero painted charters in May. I have no kingdom charters to hand out. Please return to me anything you have outstanding, even unfinished work. I am trying to amass enough Baronial charters to cover both the Emprise *AND* Banquet because they are too close together for work to occur between.
Current Stock: Based on what I have and guesstimated need for the next three events. No production occurred over the Nov-Dec holidays last year. I project none will this year.

Gwraidds: Have 8, Need 2 Total

Attendance: June 1 : one scribe and myself in attendance. No painting, but my deputy dropped in from fighting and we had discussions and much socializing did occur. One other fighting scribe popped in to say hi.
Classes: No class on the first, hence only one attendee (my carpool buddy).

Archival storage for past reign charters & masters – looking at portfolios and acid free boxes. So far, these seem expensive solutions.

I had other life commitments that kept me from making progress on my goals during the month of May. I am unable to make the meeting tomorrow as I need to be at a function at my son’s school.
I continue to receive feedback and suggestions for our Baronial Website. This is wonderful and I welcome more!
I had one request/question regarding the madrone mailing list and have passed that question along up the chain of command.
Goals for May 2015 (now for June 2015):
Baronial Website Project:
– Meet with Website Redesign Team regarding current and new sitemap
– Finalize sitemap
– Design decision: stay with current design or change designs?
Website Maintenance:
– create an event page (as requested by Event Stewards) for Baronial A&S 2016.
– create an event page for Peasant’s Revel? For Baronial Banquet?
– contact Tim regarding other domain names we have registered so we can keep them all together and make sure they all point to the same place.
– ongoing maintenance as needed/requested.

The Canton that Can keeps flowing along smoothly. The Friday night Practice/Social continues to be well attended. Now that it is light later, archery and thrown weapons can happen, but both of these activities are BYOM (bring your own marshal) since we can’t guarantee there will be a marshal available. I would remind everyone now that it is event season to check our website under “Armored Combat” for cancellations due to events.
