The Coronets of Madrone are looking for people to be part of their retinue.
What is Retinue, you may ask?
Those are some of the people who make it possible for our Coronets to do their job. Sometimes the job is to hold things while standing by, in order that the Baron or Baroness may have their hands free. Sometimes retinue members carry things. Sometimes they follow the Coronets around in case they need someone to run an errand. Sometimes they stand in the back of court and pass awards to the Coronets to pass to the people being recognized for their work or accomplishments.
What do you have to know to be Retinue? Nothing!
You can learn on the job. We will need some people who know about how court works, and they will initially get the jobs that support court, but anyone on retinue can learn a task and move into that role.
Retinue is a great job for a person who has recently come to our Barony. You are immediately in the middle of the action, making the cool things happen. You get to see and learn about the Peers and the Royals. You get to learn how the SCA works by being in the middle of it.
If you might be interested in volunteering for this job, or even trying it out for a day to see, speak to Payne or Raoukinn at a Monday fight practice. Or you can send email to them at their Barony email accounts.
