Dancemaster Trahaern hosted an in-person dance practice in the Canton of Porte de l’Eau on Thursday, July 1.
Please watch for upcoming news about possible dancing at Monday practices in Seattle.
At dance practices we do a variety of English, French, and Italian dances that date from about 1450 to 1651. We pick the dances each evening based on the interests and abilities of those who attend. Newcomers (to the SCA and/or to dancing) are always welcome. This should actually be a great time to join us since I expect we’ll be reviewing and re-learning many of the dances after such a long gap.
Until further notice, some things will be a little different to reflect that COVID is not yet completely behind us:
- Because some folks in attendance can’t be vaccinated, we ask everyone to wear masks.
- We will have hand sanitizer available, since we often hold hands in dances.
- We will have a sign-in roster and ask for contact information in case health authorities need it for contact tracing
An important note from the SCA: Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.
